Burgman Street Econo Run Visayas

Indeed the most fuel-efficient 125cc scooter in the Philippines – the Burgman Street has proven true to this title achieving a rating of 84.4km/L during the first leg of the Burgman Street EconoRun held in Cebu last weekend.

Participated by 40 riders and 4 motovloggers, the convoy started the challenge at Suzuki AS Fortuna (Mandaue City) SMDI 3S Shop to the beautiful white sand beach of San Remigio in Northern Cebu. It was around 100kms traversing through the coastal highway of the Queen City of the South. It was a fun ride through and through with other participants cruising through a fast pace already. Still, the overall result did not disappoint with the lowest fuel-economy record of 61km/L.

The celebration commenced with a vibrant motorcade, followed by a ceremonial ribbon cutting and then the store blessing led by esteemed guests – Pasay City Vice Mayor Waldertrudes Del Rosario, Motortrade Nationwide Corporation (MNC) Board of Director Mr. Victor Ongtengco and Suzuki Philippines Incorporated President Mr. Koichiro Hirao. MNC President Mr. Paulino Ongtenco and wife Mrs. Flor Ongtenco also graced the event with their presence.

Suzuki National Sales Manager Mr. Erick Fernandez provided insights into the 3S Shop concept, highlighting its commitment to Sales, Service, and Spare Parts under one roof. Suzuki Scooters’ back for the 2nd season of the 2024 Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League

Suzuki Philipines Incorporated returned as the official motorcycle partner of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) for the second consecutive year. This partnership between a powerhouse brand and the MPBL also known as “Liga ng Bawat Pilipino”, strengthens the latter’s mission of discovering and developing exceptional basketball players across the country. With that, Suzuki Scooters take center stage as the flag bearers of the brand, perfectly complementing the fast-paced action on the court. Team Suzuki joined the MPBL as it tipped off its 2024 season at the Calasiao Sports Complex in Pangasinan on Saturday, April 6, 2024. The roar of the crowd and the heart pumping action on the basketball court marked the electrifying return of professional basketball action.

The opening ceremony, hosted by the province of Pangasinan, a new addition to the MPBL family this season, was a fitting start to another exciting season. Thirty teams, including three exciting newcomers – the Abra Weavers, Pangasinan Heatwaves, and Tarlac United Force – gear up to battle it out for the coveted championship title. The Pampanga Giant Lanterns, reigning champions and North Division victors of the previous season, will be a formidable force to contend with.

Dignitaries gracing the event included MPBL Founder Senator Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, Commissioner Kenneth Duremdes, Board Member Joseph Ramos, Marketing Head Seth Jamora, Pangasinan Governor Ramon Guico III, Calasiao Pangasinan Mayor Kevin Roy Macanlalay and La Paz, Abra Mayor Joseph Bernos. They were joined by Suzuki Philippines’ Marketing Communications Group Head Ms. Edelyn Yanilla, Product Marketing and Data Group Head Ms. Victoria Caringal and Field Marketing Group Head Mr. Johnny De Guzman.

Suzuki Philippines will also bring more fun to the live games with the thrilling half-court shootout competition. Three participants will be trying their luck to shoot the ball to win a brand new Suzuki Avenis each game. Suzuki Raider R150 Big Ride

Celebrating Supremacy and Promoting Road Safety

Another history was made by Team Suzuki with over a thousand Raider R150 riders firing up their engines and hitting the open roads of the Metro including the expressway for what proved to be an unforgettable Suzuki Raider Big Ride! An unprecedented event to celebrate supremacy and promote road safety, the ride was a 44-km journey which convoyed a very long stretch of Raider R150 motorcycles signifying its dominance and securing its title as the unrivaled Underbone King.

As early as 3:00 AM on March 23, 2024, Raider riders from Calabarzon, NCR, Bulacan and Pampanga converged at the Suzuki Caloocan Cyclemar 3S Shop situated at the Metro’s heart of motorcycle and spare parts dealers – 10th Avenue in Caloocan City for the Suzuki Raider Big Ride. The massive parade of the Underbone King commenced at 7:45 AM passing by the stretch of Edsa to Roxas Boulevard entering the Manila-Cavite Expressway (Cavitex) exiting to Bacoor proceeding to Bacoor Coliseum in Molino. Prided as another milestone in the motoring industry, the occasion is the first organized large convoy of riders which allowed entry of small displacement motorcycles in an expressway in Manila.

The expressway experience added thrill to the Raider riders who fostered discipline and camaraderie all throughout the journey until the ride’s endpoint which promised more excitement with the program that Suzuki had prepared for everyone. Hosted by DJ Tanya Tsinita, the show revolved around how importance safety riding is with a Safety Riding segment that tested our riders understanding of the country’s rules and regulations on the road. The riders were also treated with raffle items of parts, accessories and safety riding gears given by Suzuki’s trade partners – Racing Boy Philippines, AV Moto Sales, HJC Helmets, Shinko Tires, Triumph JT Marketing Corporation and Ryzen Helmets from Team Graphitee. As a major gift of thanks, the brand gave away a brand-new V-STROM 250 SX which was won by John Erickson Martel from the R150 All Star Nation.

The event was attended by Suzuki executives and group heads led by President Mr. Koichiro Hirao, Managing Director Mr. Norminio Mojica, General Manager for After Sales and Marine Mr. Yukio Sato, Division Head for Motorcycle Sales and Marketing Mr. Joey Salavarria, Assistant to the Division Head Mr. Daigo Morikawa, Assistant General Manager for Manufacturing & Engineering Mr. Noli Silvestre, Marketing Communications Group Head Ms. Edelyn Yanilla, Product Marketing and Data Group Head Ms. Victoria Caringal and Field Marketing Group Head Mr. Johnny De Guzman. Their presence solidified Suzuki’s commitment to foster a vibrant motorcycle community in the country.

The route of the Suzuki Raider Big Ride was carefully chosen and organized in partnership with the Metropolitan Manila Mayors, Administrators & City Enforcers, Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) – MMDA Chairman Romando Artes, MMDA Radio and Motorcycle Units, Highway Patrol Group Tigers, City of Bacoor Tourism Office, Bacoor Traffic Management Office and Bacoor Motorcycle Traffic Group, the Manila-Cavite Expressway – Public Estates Authority (Cavitex-PEA), Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) and the office of Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr.. The ride was also backed by Suzuki clubs and riders with Ride Coordinator Mr. Richard Dela Cruz.

The Suzuki Raider Big Ride is another first from Suzuki, and the Japanese giant’s way of showing gratitude to the riders for their support of the Raider brand from its launch in 2003 to the present, which makes it unrivaled for two decades and more. The Raider community is growing immensely with the solidarity of a family, and owning one is not just having a motorcycle badge but one that says “We are the Underbone King!”.

Participants also gamely accepted the Gymkhana challenge! A much-anticipated Smash that Dance Floor contest and Smash Babe competition were held. Suzuki Big Bikers Celebrate 10th Anniversary

Suzuki Big Bikers Club of the Philippines (SBB) recently celebrated its first decade of brotherhood. Around 70 Suzuki Big Bike riders gathered in the early morning of March 2 for a ride to the Thunderbird Resorts Poro Point in San Fernando La Union with a quick detour at Pinewoods Country Club in Baguio City. It was a total of 285 km ride with a good mix of freeway cruise and twisties that underscored Suzuki Big Bikes’ high performance with their power, performance, comfort, maneuverability, and control, attesting why these riders have a very long relationship with their Suzukis.


Founded in 2014, SBB was established with then SBB President and now Consultant Edwin Matthew Cua in partnership with Mr. Roscoe Odulio VP for Sales and Marketing of Wheeltek Nationwide Corporation. This is alongside the dealer’s first successful selling of big bikes in the country. Suzuki has always been the first brand of motorcycle choice by the Wheeltek group and this celebration highlighted this deep relationship even more.


The event culminated at the beautiful Santorini of Asia – Thunderbird Resorts Poro Point veranda backdropped with the stunning La Union sunset, where everyone enjoyed a feast over food and music. The event also saw photo slideshows documenting SBB’s 10 years on the road from their local and international rides and activities. The occasion also saw new sets of officers to carry on SBB’s core values and advocacy headed by Mr. Joey Oriola as the new President, Mr. Marvin Chua as Vice President, Ms. Mhae Javier, Suzuki Big Bikes Center Makati Officer in Charge and Mr. Ronald Marcaida, Treasurer with Mr. Edwin Cua as Consultant. Present during the induction of officers are Wheeltek’s VP for Sales and Marketing Mr. Roscoe Odulio, Regional Manager Mr. Elmer Olayo, Assistant Manager Mr. Allan Panlibuton, Suzuki Big Bikes Calasiao Branch Manager Mr. Joel Ellao, Suzuki Big Bikes San Fernando Ms. Teth Rayos Del Sol together with Suzuki Executives and Officers headed by Mr. Joey Salavarria, Division Head for Motorcycle Sales and Marketing, Big Bikes Group Head Mr. Roland Raymundo and Big Bikes Supervisor Ms. Mary Ann Garcia. Media and vlogger friends also joined the festivity with Visor, RidePH, Motor ni Juan, InangMoto, and Jet Lau Rider.


SBB is one of the biggest Suzuki Big Bikes clubs in the Philippines with over 100 members. The group has become instrumental to the growth and popularity of Suzuki Big Bikes in the country and has also helped in spreading awareness of safety riding and extending help through charity rides over the years.
