Following the launch of the V-STROM 160 and DR160 recently, Suzuki Philippines brought the members of the media, motovloggers, content creators, and motorcycle enthusiasts for Suzuki Supercharged: The Real Adventure Experience, a ride activity specially designed to showcase the real-world capabilities of the new motorcycles last June 2, 2026.
The adventure began at Shell, C5, Julia Vargas in Pasig City where attendees received a short briefing before they were officially sent off by Suzuki Executives, President Mr. Koichiro Hirao, and Managing Director Mr. Norminio Mojica, Assistant Division Head Mr. Erick Fernandez, Motorcycle Marketing Department Head Mr. Cyril Aguadera and the Suzuki Motorcycle Marketing Team Group Heads, Marketing Communications Ms. Edelyn Yanilla, Product and Data Marketing Ms. Victoria Caringal and Field Marketing Ramil Mulay.





A special challenge was also introduced for the participants: to create the best reel capturing their real adventure experience throughout the event. From Pasig, riders travelled to Sta. Ines, Tanay, Rizal, passing through the popular twisties of the highway including the famous Big C and Devil’s Corner in Marilaque. After arriving in Sta. Ines, Coach Mel Aquino of Motorcycle Riding School Philippines delivered a short orientation in the how-to and techniques of offroad riding whether on uphill, downhill, and river routes.




The experience intensified as the riders tackled challenging river crossings, passing through a hanging bridge, and off-road uphill and downhill trails, carefully designed by Klif Porciuncula of Motorcycle Cinema. These demanding routes provided the perfect environment for participants to fully appreciate the capabilities of both motorcycles.
Riding through the route from the highways to the light off-road, the V-STROM 160 riders experienced the V-STROM 160, riders experienced the confidence and control offered by its Dual Channel Antilock Braking System (ABS), complemented by the comfort of its upright riding position and 7-step adjustable rear suspension, which helped absorb varying road conditions throughout the journey. Meanwhile, the DR160 showcased its off-road prowess with its high torque 162cc, fuel-injected, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, SOHC engine producing 14 Nm of torque and lightweight stance, 244mm high ground clearance and 845mm high seat height with an upright riding position, enabling riders to navigate rough terrain, steep inclines, and river crossings with ease and confidence. The front channel ABS and rear disc brakes which come in handy in on and off-road terrains. Participants noted the DR160’s nimble handling and responsive power delivery on technical sections, while V-STROM 160 riders highlighted its comfortable ride, stable handling, and versatility across different road conditions.



The adventure continued from Sta. Ines to Masalat Road in Tanay, Rizal, where participants embarked on an exploratory ride around the surrounding areas, including routes leading toward the Wind Farm in Pililia, Rizal. The diverse terrain provided the perfect environment to evaluate the strengths of both motorcycles in various riding conditions.


During the program proper, members of the media and content creators shared their firsthand impressions of the motorcycles after experiencing them across highways, provincial roads, and off-road terrain
The V-STROM 160 earned praise for its comfort, accessibility, and touring-oriented character. MotoPH.com’s Gilbert Chao described the motorcycle as comfortable and perfectly suited for the route, while James Orlanda from BusinessMirror regarded both models as capable all-rounders. Fort Manahan of Carmudi/Zigwheels Philippines highlighted the V-STROM 160’s seat height, noting its approachable ergonomics for a wide range of riders. For Maki Aganon, also known as Maki MOTO, of Visor, the motorcycle stood out as a practical sport-touring machine, combining comfort with confidence-inspiring handling. Ian Gongona of Inside Moto further concurred to point to the V-STROM 160’s road-focused nature, making it an excellent choice for riders seeking a versatile touring companion. Anton Reintar of RidebuyPH added that the motorcycle performed impressively on pavement and proved that the adventure-inspired motorcycle can confidently handle everyday riding conditions.



The DR160, meanwhile, took the center stage in the offroad tracks due to its lightweight feel, suspension performance, and more durable capability. Content creator Des Buncio identified the DR160 as her favorite between the two, citing its comfortable handling and rider-friendly characteristics. Alex Alo of Lifestyle on Wheels praised its lightness, while motovlogger Boy 2 highlighted the motorcycle’s suspension setup and how it is perfect for his cross training for flat-track riding as a circuit racer himself. Other participants also commended the DR160’s responsive throttle, confidence-inspiring riding position, and ability to tackle challenging terrain with ease. Riders noted that the motorcycle remained stable through uneven surfaces and river crossings while providing enough power and control for both beginner and experienced off-road enthusiasts.
Safety and versatility emerged as common themes among media and vlogger participants. Reed Motovlog emphasized the importance of rider confidence and safety features when tackling unfamiliar terrain mentioning the presence of ABS in both models, especially that his content is mostly about camping. Joel Joya of Motorsiklo News praised the overall capability and styling of both bikes. For Novelyn Quiamco of 2Ner Nation, both bikes are particularly relevant to Filipino riders, highlighting that the country has diverse road conditions and archipelagic geographical characteristics, in which both bikes can handle.
Coach Mel Aquino who led the off-road orientation and training activities expressed his appreciation for Suzuki’s decision to introduce two motorcycles that cater to different riding styles and terrains. He noted that the V-STROM 160 and the DR160 provide riders with distinct yet complimentary options, allowing more Filipinos to confidently explore both paved roads and off-road adventures.
Closing the event, Mr. Daigo Morikawa, Assistant to the Division Head of MC Sales and Marketing, expressed his appreciation to the media and content creators who joined this activity.
He noted that while the motorcycles were officially introduced during the Makina Moto Expo last April, events such as this provide valuable opportunities for riders and members of the media to experience the motorcycles and provide honest feedback.
Mr. Morikawa also emphasized Suzuki’s global heritage in adventure and off-road motorcycles, highlighting the company’s long-standing reputation for building capable vehicles for various riding conditions. Most importantly, he expressed gratitude that the event concluded safely.
As the attendees conquered the trails of Marilaque, the challenge to create the best adventure reel remained top of mind. At the end of the ride, the winning entries were recognized and awarded for their creativity and storytelling – Des Buncio, Maki Aganon, Ian Gongona, Kit Pila, and Boy 2.
